Moms Strong is not alone in our battle to defend our children from marijuana. The U.S. Parent Movement at one time led the way in curtailing access to mind altering drugs and keep them out of the hands of young people. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) recognized the Parent Movement (1.0) with reducing past-month illicit drug use among American adolescents and young adults by nearly two-thirds between 1979 and 1992.
A number of Parent Movement leaders around the country are still very active on the issue. They have just recently launched a new website, Parent Movement 2.0. The Parent Movement 2.0 website provides talking points for you to help you discuss drugs with your children. It also offers other parent/teen education and drug prevention resources. The group also gives advice on how to be an activist in your local community and how to create parent to peer support groups.
In addition to following MomsStrong.org, we urge you to sign up for the Parent Movement.

I’m a man of 72 and used the terrible weed-Marihuana when I was in my teens and twenties and not one solitary good thing came out of that foolishness’. I’m thankful that my wife would not put up with it. We met when I was 32 and very soon thereafter I quit that mind bending garbage. I am totally against the use of this drug and pray that people realize how dangerous it is.
